In september 2014, about fifty volonteers of Secours Catholique-Caritas France and some migrants went to the South of France and stayed in Lourdes. That really beautiful film depicts a few days of sharing, exchange, reflexion and mediation.
There were 15 volunteers and 35 migrants. More than ten nationalities were represented. At the departure time, some exiles lived in a welcoming centre for asylum seekers (CADA) and others in the ’jungle’.
“When we meet migrants in Calais, it is alwyas in a emergency situation, we have no time to stand with them, Father Michel Delannoy says. Then we realised that was important for them was not only to get meals or showers but also to be able to share on the spiritual side.”
Christians, muslims, atheists met in Lourdes for a week. “The objevtive was to live in a real mixity : exiles and volonteers around the intereligious issue.”
